How much can you #SniffSniff?

As it is I am always frustrated with this body odor issue all around me in crowded places. I have never been able to understand why and how can people travel without taking care of their hygiene. It is so disgusting to smell some someone’s armpits in a bus just because he is taller than you and has held the  rod for support on the bus. Disgusting!!!!

So I come home after one such irritating journey and I get a beautiful courier parcel. Inside it is a wooden clamp..A wooden clamp?? What am I supposed to do with it? Is it to plug my nose? Is that a solution for the odor issue I face around me? Am I supposed to travel on public transport with a wooden clamp on my nose and breathe through my n mouth?? I actually do that the next day and I have people laughing and giggling looking at my appearance and pass comments in hushed tones. I sit quietly once I get a seat and let them laugh at me. In the midst of all this I see some people with the worst body odour definitely get embarrassed by my action… (Good they realize it – I say to myself.)

The next day I get another courier and this time it has a small jute bag inside the box. The moment I take it out of the box I get the strong aroma of coffee beans and I know for sure that this is coffee. I open it just to double check it and wonder what to do with this to fight the body odor problem I see while travelling. I carry the jute bag with me for the next two days to work and make it a point to travel by the same public transport and skip the car. The commuters with me now are aware of my presence and know that I am doing something different. They see me sniffing the jute bag time and again and their faces go red. The ones like me, give me a knowing smile and the awareness is slowly spreading.

The next day I get a face mask in the courier and I am wondering “OMG, now am I supposed to travel with this?” What would people feel, cops would arrest me probably thinking I am a Terrorist… ;), but the determined me decides to travel the next day with the mask ON and so there I am on a crowded bus with a mask covering my nose and allowing me easy breathing. Some of the same smelly armpits are around me, but are more embarrassed today seeing me travel that way. A few muster up courage and come to talk to me and I explain to them in the most humble manner as to why I have to do this. If all of us live with good hygiene and use deodorants regularly the @SniffSniff nose of mine would only inhale the pleasant smell and I would not have to use clamps, jute bags filled with coffee beans and face masks. Rather, we all could chit chat with each other and the table would be a pleasant journey. I hope they all understand what I said and take it in a positive sense, #BanBodyOdour and don’t kill me the next day I go to work. :p

I am sharing my odour story for the ‘My Nose Knows’ contest as a part of the #SniffSniff activity at BlogAdda.
