Smoking is injurious to health and that’s a well-known fact around the globe. Regular or chain smoking can lead to lung cancer and yet most of us stick to smoking. That’s because smoking is an addiction. Whether you started smoking at the school to be cool or it was one of the ways to relieve stress, you are addicted to that habit now. Even if you wish to quit smoking, your body doesn’t let you as the craving for a smoke is so strong that you must submit yourself to the addiction.

Milk and Dairy
Smokers would hardly consume milk or dairy. The main reason for that is the fact that cigarettes taste worse after a glass of milk or another dairy. Hence, it is highly recommended to drink milk or other dairy products regularly to spoil your cigarette smoking experience. Whenever you feel like smoking, try a small glass of milk or yogurt and see if you still have the craving.
Ginseng fades the effect of dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is the neurotransmitter responsible for the pleasure you get while smoking. Drinking ginseng tea on a regular basis will bring down the effect of dopamine and that will moderate the pleasure you gain while smoking.
Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits like Apple have a good amount of fiber content. Such fiber content keeps you full for the most part of the day and pacifies your desire to smoke. Whenever you feel like smoking, simply pick up a fresh apple or other fibrous fruit and munch on it. Ginger may be too strong but that’s the main factor that helps you quit smoking. Smoking is a strong urge and the best way to resist is to try something even stronger. Grind a piece of ginger and add some sugar before consuming it. Your urge to smoke will disappear.
Cinnamon too has a strong scent and flavor. Inhaling deeply on cinnamon sticks replicates the same experience as smoking cigarettes. You can also take a piece of cinnamon stick and start chewing whenever you have the urge to smoke.

There are several other foods that you can try as well. These include but not restricted to Green Cardamom and Citrus fruits. Since their impact is less, i have not gone and written them separately. however, they fall in the 7 foods that help you quit smoking. Smoking is an urge not a necessity to our body. Hence, you simply need to pacify this urge and that can be easily accomplished if you eat Vitamin C rich foods regularly.
You can also munch on dark chocolate as well. Eating several seeds such as flax seeds which are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids can also help quit smoking. All kinds of berries whether blueberries or raspberries can also aid to quit smoking.

The urge to smoke is strong and if you are really planning to quit smoking then you must have a strong will power to do it. Munching on these foods will help you in your quest to quit smoking but you must have the willpower to keep going forward on this journey. If you feel you have sufficient willpower, quit smoking without any help. When I could kick my habit of 21 years in a day, so can you. It has been 6 years since I quit smoking. I hardly had any withdrawal symptoms and I am pretty happy right now.
