This was a thrilling and brilliant idea suggested by fellow Blogger Friend Sid Balachandran. I had to get up early in the morning , walk up to my balcony and look outside for a full 90 seconds and use my grasping power to catch maximum possible activities happening out there, come back and write about the same.
Firstly, It was a task to get Bruno out of my lap first. He loves to sleep the whole night that way and especially in winters he is very lazy to get up. I somehow cajoled and convinced him to let go and get up. I Dragged myself slowly to the balcony with sleepy eyes. ‘The old man isn’t agile anymore over the last one year’- I said to myself promising myself yet once more that I will go jogging regularly from tomorrow. I went to the balcony and saw an old lady (our society ki Daadi) carrying milk and bread back home.. Walking slowly but with the morning freshness and confidence. Some young boys had played their quota of tennis and were sitting there soaking in sweat.. “I am still feeling the cold.. Either they are sick or I am” I thought… Later, realizing that it’s me who needs to get back in shape. The continuos chirping of birds was on, probably trying to figure out what to get for their lunch and the day ahead, but there is lots of enthusiasm in that chirping during morning hours and the energy levels definitely go down as the day progresses. Then I saw a few men walk up to their cars with similar enthusiasm.. Maybe they were planning to go to work or get their share of bread for the family.. The enthusiasm is same nevertheless, like the birds and the old Daadi. I could also hear the motor in the background all the while, Namdeo is cleaning the swimming pool like always and he puts his hands in the chilling water effortlessly.. Daily. Is he human? I mean on a winter morning who would want to attempt such stunts, that too again and again? Mechanically he works daily, no sick leave, no casual leave.. He is stronger than us all I tell myself. One most significant difference I notice is that I can breathe easily outside. The air is definitely fresh and one automatically smiles while inhaling it. I did the same, picked up Bruno, who was at my feet like always and walked back to my desk to pen down the morning memories for you all to read. Would you want to share yours?

Mornings are wonderful… and your description just reminded me how 🙂 am still intrigued by the thought of a dip in the chilly pool!
🙂 Anks..
Mornings are truly wonderful, though I am not a morning person at all… but it is amazing these days especially out here… the misty windy winter mornings… 🙂
Yes Archie…lovely feel in the morning time..:)
Seems to be a great idea. A delightful read, Uttpal. You aptly described a beautiful morning 🙂
Thank you Ravish.. 🙂
lovely morning read it was!!
Thanks Polomi.. 🙂
As the dawn breaks the blackness of the night, the brilliant hues of the wintry Sun across the blue skies is a canvas that I love to watch and I always spend a good five minutes paying obeisance to nature…it makes a serene but powerful and positive start to the day! Trust me it works!
Yes it did Sunita.. 🙂 I would love to read your experience through your post too.. 🙂
So well-penned, I could actually picturise it!
Thank you Leena..:)
A lovely description of life at that point of time in the morning. I just mentioned at Ankita’s site too (from where I bloghopped) that I remember seeing the morning view pics from our Whatsapp groups and really feeling awkward that everyone else is from a multi-storey apartment while mine was from literally a jungle with just trees all over, since that was where the hospitalw was.
Its by helplessness against the situation doc, not by choice. On the contrary, if I am allowed to choose, I would settle down away from the population with a large farm land having a nice 2 storeyed Independent house rather than staying here in a multi-storeyed building. I am sure the morning observations would be very beautiful from there…:)
I am a morning person which most of you would have known by now. This is a wonderful capture of what keeps on happening around . Great post UK
Thanks Ani…:)
I am sure you will capture a lot more from your lens eye than my words when you DO get up some day. 🙂
I’m not a morning person, but sometimes (rarely) I do wake up to look outside..to drink up the beauties of nature… 🙂
Beautiful post, U K…
Thanks Mani…:)
I just LOVED the post and the idea is awesome. Would like to do it myself too. Wondering how…! My mornings are rushed….packing food for kid and hubby, and sending them off to their daily destinations…..followed by my cup of tea. I used to sit in my balcony to sip my tea, a few years back. I don’t do that since I seem to be rushing always. Your post makes me want to do it again. Can’t thank you enough for that.
Hey Sunaina, so glad you got inspired to do such a thing.. Its a stress buster in its own way. Give it a try when you can. I am sure you will and I am also sure you will like it. 🙂
