The Purple Truck- Food Review

Indian Bloggers

The Purple Truck is the second Food truck I saw in  Navi Mumbai. It is generally parked near the crowded areas of Hiranandani, Central park and other prominent areas. It serves veg and Non Veg Burgers and Rolls with some catchy names. This food review happens only because I wanted to taste the new launch.

Decor

The Purple Truck Food Truck is parked on the main roads in Kharghar all over the crowded places is easily visible while traveling. The food Truck is set-up in a fashion that it is visible to all vehicles. Purple bing the theme, almost the entire Truck has been painted purple. You can see what is available on the Menu cards posted on the Truck Doors and small boards put outside. The cleanliness is fantastic with Dustbin provided so that no littering happens and the food seems to be hygienic.

Food

They serve only across the counter and no home deliveries. Customers are a mix of repeat and new who love to try something new, looking at the Food Truck. The specialty of the place has always been the  Rolls I feel, as they are made with great dedication by Chef Sandeep Satheesan. Being an IHM graduate, he knows how to make it in style and attract the foodies attention.

I tried the Desi Murgh wrap, Orient wrap and the Desi Paneer wrap. The best part is they use whole wheat wraps so they are definitely not Junk food. The wraps are decently priced and filling too. The plates used for serving are attractive too and the presentation is decent.

Plus and Minus

The cleanliness is decent with Uniforms, chef caps, etc. for the staff on a Food truck. The service is slightly an issue, maybe because they are not used to handle 20 customers at a time and though they follow the professional ticket system, they still lag in service time primarily due to lack of coordination. I am sure they will soon come up as a coordinated team and do better. You can enjoy the open space arrangement with your group/ friends without much disturbance of the Traffic and check out all the new burgers and rolls on the menu if you have proper time with you.

  1. In Bangalore, we have these small autos converted to kitchens, serving 100 varieties of Dosas. From Pav Bhaji Dosas to Chinese ones….U should try that out sometime.

    1. Yes Gauri, Food Trucks move from Vashi to Kharghar mostly evening hours post 7pm. Their food gets over first, not the visiting crowd. The concept is relatively new here so our people are more keen to eat at a Food Truck. Some FT’s serve excellent food, some are mediocre.
