Fruits and Veggies are Hydrating Foods for Dry Skin.

If you’re suffering from dry skin, then you know how frustrating it can be. Dry patches make your skin look flaky and unappealing, and above all, they also make you feel uncomfortable. If you want to keep your skin soft and hydrated, adding more hydrating foods to your diet can definitely help! But what are these foods? And how do they help our skin? The answer is simple and can be found in your kitchen. Yes! Eating fruits and vegetables can hydrate your body because they contain lots of water. This is why it’s important to incorporate these foods into your diet if you want to keep your skin healthy and glowing!

Adding some hydrating fruits and vegetables to your diet might definitely help if you struggle with dry skin. The most crucial element in maintaining healthy and moisturized skin is water. However, there are some meals that can assist in increasing your water content even more, keeping your skin soft and giving you that dewy appearance you’ve always desired.

Here’s our list of the best hydrating foods for dry skin:

Watermelon

Did you know that watermelon is 92% water? The melon’s flesh also contains vitamins A and C, which will help brighten your complexion while providing antioxidants that fight free radicals (which damage collagen).

Cucumbers

Do you know cucumbers are made up of 95 percent water and contain vitamin K, which helps with blood clotting? Cucumbers are a rich source of silica, and it helps healthy connective tissue in the body, including hair follicles — this keeps hair looking shiny and healthy!

Hydrating Foods

Carrots

Carrots are one of my favorites. It contains a lot of beta-carotene as well as other nutrients like fibre, vitamin C, and potassium. This is why it is one of the healthiest vegetables available. Carrots will not only keep your skin hydrated, but they’ll give it an added glow too! So try munching on some carrots, your skin will love you for it!

Kiwi fruit

Kiwis are high in vitamin C, which is great for improving your skin’s elasticity and reducing fine lines. They also contain a good amount of potassium, which helps prevent water loss through the skin.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes contain a lot of lycopene. The antioxidant lycopene aids in defending the skin against UV radiation damage. Additionally, they contain vitamin C, which promotes the creation of collagen and preserves the health of connective tissue.

Bonus Tip

To get the most from your skin-boosting ingredients, try to eat them raw. The lycopene in tomatoes and kiwis is more bioavailable when eaten this way, meaning your body can absorb it more easily.
