I was forced to take this decision after a long wait of almost 2 weeks. On an active site like IndiBlogger 2 weeks is a long time for any action or reaction to happen.
It started with me joining IndiBlogger after a fellow Blogger pointed out that since I was already on many forums and doing reviews, cooking and posting, he felt it was time I joined IndiBlogger. I have found this as a wonderful platform to showcase your posts and thoughts and the whole concept is fantastic. So like my usual self, I started making friends and increased my network to over 500 bloggers whom I saw after my joining regularly. What surprised me was only about 125 responded and added me back to their network. The rest? They didn’t bother. 🙂 Fair enough, I still went about reading their posts and promote them. I did not promote some as I didn’t like them. Overall by the law of averages I have like more than 1 post of each of the 500 odd Bloggers in my network.
The best part is that some of the “Bloggers” have so much of an attitude (could be indifference) that they did not even bother to mail back with a simple “Thank you” or reciprocating with a Like/Promote to my posts (posted a lot by now for anyone to have missed reading even one)
I feel any site which allows you to interact freely with each other has its basics clear. Its interacting and exchanging knowledge, know-how and offer/ask guidance. Then why do some people have this attitude that they are stars? I so pity such people at time. Most of them don’t even have their own website, but the attitude they throw is ..OMG!!
Where is the humble blogger gone? Why this attitude? Is it the frustration or negligence at home or at work place which they take out here on IndiBlogger? Is that why they “Blog” and take it out this way? Where are the basic netiquettes gone. This applies to some good writers too who are fairly popular at least here (wont name anyone here, each person knows for himself).Whatever be the reason, I am not a reformist, nor am I here to point out someones mistake if they have taken it up on them to make it their lifestyle.
Yesterday some of the fellow Bloggers met up as we were doing a review of a new food joint and I shared my feelings with them. I have been knowing these Bloggers for almost 8-9 years now and some of them are very senior in the Industry. They gave a very good solution to this problem and for such “Bloggers”. So I sat down today and did what they best deserved… I deleted them from my Network. 🙂
I am sorry if I have hurt some sentiments and you can open my “hate mail ka Khaata” by sending me one yourself. I am sure some guilty and frustrated souls will defend the action of those 375 odd “bloggers” and write to me.. I am always okay for discussion if it helps improving mine or your thought process. So please do send in your comments and thoughts. I am not asking for any public support for my action as I am simple common Man and my concepts are very clear. I give respect and get respect in return. I have my own fan following and I am very happy with that. 🙂
On a closing note, I do not have anything personal against anyone so please do not take my deleting you from my network at heart. If you feel from heart that you have done wrong and after reading my post you would like to add me in your network to correct yourself, I would be more than glad and would continue reading your posts and promoting them. For others …I am Sorry..
