Global Fusion – A Honest Review.

Indian Bloggers

Global Fusion started as an Elaborate Buffet Brunch joint which serves practically everything. More popular for its Elaborate sushi Buffets along with Oriental, Chinese, Asian and North Indian cuisines. It has a lot to offer in in Starters, Main course, Rice/Noodle selection, salads, Soups, Desserts, Raw juices, Side accompaniments along with coolers and Mocktails. We decided to give a try to almost everything possible for us and rate this Joint. The spacious joint welcomes you from 12 noon to 3.30 pm and 7pm to 1am. The average price for a Buffet is about 1500/- per person and that is far cheaper than going for A la carte. The table d’hote menu is ample and well chosen by the management to keep you engaged continuously.

The first thing which I want to tell is that this joint is off the Linking Road and is located in the Link Square Mall. The decor is fantastic and done in style to make you feel special. The lights are low so you need to adjust your eyes after walking from broad day sunlight else you may end up tripping somewhere. The overall insides are done well, which gives you the feeling of privacy in a public place and at the same time and one feels peace and seclusion from the otherwise crowded Linking road area.

Food

A friend had dropped in from Bangalore and we decided to give the Buffet a try. Without disclosing that we are Bloggers, we ordered food. The reason to do this is to get a taste of what is offered to all. We were served with some complimentary red wine and a long list of 8 starters with some veg and non-veg mix. I liked the fish, the golden fried potatoes, the mushrooms and the Lamb chop though they were a bit overcooked and less succulent. The Main course has a choice of 4  veg and 4 non veg and is okay. The food there is average and did not appeal to me as a Food blogger. The desserts have about 7-8 types and again, there is nothing which appealed to me.

GF 3Plus and Minus

The ambience is outstanding though the place is crowded. If you are looking at privacy with your group then this is the place. There is no Air-conditioning post 3.30 pm (subtle way of asking you to leave), so wind up by 3.30pm. The Food is average barring a few dishes which I also recommend to my readers, but the service is fantastic and is worth the money we paid. Being a self -Trained chef and a Food blogger, I am choosy about the food and look at all aspects when the end product is served. This is not the place for someone who goes looking for a typical Indian meal (Rice, Roti, Sabzi stuff) only. The pricing is slightly on the higher side, but then looking at the ambiance, service and the elaborate menu, the price is definitely justified. The food needs to be made by a set team of chefs and staff so that they know what the customers like, and accommodate the spices and oil accordingly. I felt that the “going by the Book” recipes are not appealing to the customers and some change is needed to keep the footfalls a regular repeat.  Overall, I loved the concept, the place and the ambiance. Issues of food could be definitely taken care of with more attention.
