I had written my experience on the launch of Airtel 4G in Mumbai some days back. This post is just in continuation with that in terms of experience. After I got my Airtel 4G sim card and switched on the mobile I was eager to see what all had changed in my Telecom world. Like I said I got the Airtel 4G sitting at home with just one reminder. Most importantly, I got it in 24 hours. I could also make out that since the 4G plan was rolled out in 296 states, it was a well planned move by Airtel ahead of others.
I had some work at the Vidarbha Cricket Association in Nagpur and we travelled by road this time since I had my family with me and it was a pleasure cum business trip. So we took halts at a few places before reaching Nagpur. We went straight to the VCA where I had to hand deliver some important Tenders and shake hands with a few officials. Once that was done and after politely refusing Lunch invitations, I was free for the whole day as I came out. My son insisted we go to the Krazy castle Amusement park, which has become pretty popular in Nagpur. The only problem was I did not know the route. Since I am born and brought up in Maharashtra does not make it necessary for me to know the entire Maharashtra. I have been to Nagpur in the past a couple of times, but cities change drastically every 5 years. So I took out my handset and told myself that this was the time to test the new 4G of Airtel in this city which was the 14th in the country and the 2nd only in Maharashtra after Pune where Airtel had launched the 4G. The navigation had become smoother and the streaming was the best. Absolutely no buffering while I checked the YouTube videos about the Amusement park and the entire route from Vidharbha Cricket Association to Krazy Castle Amusement park was laid out in front of me in seconds. The 6 kilometers is hardly a distance and we reached there in about 20 mins. He enjoyed a lot there and after we left my wife wanted us to go to the Gareeb Nawaz Mosque. With the Airtel 4G, I could get all the information I needed in a few clicks and in the next 30 minutes we are at the mosque praying for all. We headed back home straight after that. While driving back, I was recollecting the new advertisement of the Airtel 4G where the challenge is set for a lifetime mobile bill free if anyone gets a faster speed. Now I knew why such an open challenge was thrown. It is actually not possible as of now, to get anything faster than Airtel 4G and that too at the price of 3G. I smiled at myself and looked at the happy faces of my family members because we had not wasted a single minute asking directions or checking out about the places we went impromptu. After all we look for happiness of our family in whatever we do and Airtel 4G has definitely made life much smoother for me.

Yes Archi… 🙂
Though i also wrote about Airtel 4G, but people have doubts if it faster than even their 3G…some have raised their concerns. To me, it looks to be better!
It is Alok, I too found it much faster. though the advertisement is after all an advertisement. No movie can get downloaded in under 3 mins or so, but definitely it is faster than 3G. 🙂
