I don’t belong to the Random Parents category. I had done a lot of research on the Internet and long sessions with the pediatrician friends when my son was born. I had taken in view all their suggestions and it had helped me deal with the entry of a new member in the house with relative ease as compared to any other random parents. I say random parents because with the population of India already crossing 128 crore as I write this post and with 29 child births every minute in India itself (meaning 42,434 children born every day), most of the parents can be termed random who are not particular about the skin care of their newborn.
The reason I take the privilege of calling myself special and not a part of the Random parent’s category is because I knew from the word GO as to what possible hurdles could come in the upbringing and raising of my child in the initial days.
The first and foremost being the climate. The weather conditions are such that a child’s skin gets affected immediately due to this. So I had planned all clothes for my son well in advance with the relevant fabric. The clothes were all ordered and made as per the bay’s size and as he would grow up the new clothes with new measurements would be made accordingly with the same soft material. I had to select from a few names to zero down on one.
The second aspect is the toys which a baby gets attracted to and eventually selects some toys which he/she call their own. Picking up toys from any shops would increase choking hazard, chemical reaction and allergy to the soft baby skin. So I had planned the brand and the collection, keeping in mind all the health parameters which will help not to disturb the skin softness of my baby. Here again I had a few names to consider before choosing the one which was best for my child.
The Third factor was the Mattress which he would sleep on. There are so many available in the market , but studying the mattress for the newborn is something all parents should do before buying one as a wrong mattress would leave rashes and redness on the child’s skin making the parents feel guilty. There are now many options available in the market, so I could get to choose from many.
The fourth important thing is the toiletries used for the baby. There are a few select brands which sell very good and chemical free products, others just fool us. It is important for all parents, not to neglect this fact and keep only cost comparison at bay. It is essential to understand what all the baby oil or the shampoo has as its ingredients which directly come in contact with the baby skin and may have an adverse effect if bought of a cheaper brand. I had a vast array of choices and I chose the best for my baby.
Finally, it comes to the nappy pants, which your baby wears. Not only do they come in contact with the vital and soft organs of the baby, they also play a very important role in the hygiene of the child. My choice was clear from day one. There was only one name in my mind as the #SoftestForBabySkin. It was Pampers and incidentally, I saw their recent advertisement saying “Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy, and your baby happy.” I had no two thoughts before buying these for the best results for my baby’s skin.
