VishwaJyoti – Vashi started some years back on the Ground Floor of Shiv Centre, Sector 17, Vashi and has managed to pull good crowd over the years and retained it too. The place is crowded during Lunch and Dinner hours, but otherwise it’s fairly empty, so one can sit and relax. We decided to go there on 5th July 2016 and give a try to some new additions and also check the service. The spacious joint welcomes you from 7.00am to 11.30am. The original decor and Ambiance has now improved a lot.
Decor
The first thing which I want to tell is that this joint is on the ground floor of the Shiv Centre at sector 17, Vashi. The place is strategically located and attracts crowds naturally during peak hours from nearby work area and offices. The decor is neat and done in a simple style to make you feel comfortable. The seating is decent and there is ample light which keeps the place well lit up always. The kitchen area appeared okay and is kept away from public view so as to avoid any comments coming in from the customers. The kitchen décor needs upgrading though.
Food
We tried Veg clear soup, Veg crispy, Mixed Veg and Roti, Manchurian rice so as to check fairly all what sells popularly. The food is well cooked and served in decent wait time. Anything which you order right from to eat at the table or take away is served fast. The staff needs some more training on table serving etiquettes though. Overall the food was okay, not very great and I found it a bit too oily when it came to some dishes. The food however was not overcooked.
Plus and Minus
The cleanliness is maintained and one can see the staff promptly coming and mopping / wipe anything which spills on the floor. The only drawback is the open shaft in the seating area where empty food plates are sent through for cleaning purposes in the basement. This shaft is seen by the dining customers and this should be covered up or a separate entrance should be made to send the plates for cleaning. Like I always say, as a Food blogger, I am choosy about the food and look at all aspects when the end product is served. This is definitely one place I would recommend for people who need quick Lunch and dinner served when in Vashi. As long as you are not too choosy about taste and flavor and the right spices of the food, this is the joint for you.
