Being a chef and a food blogger is not an easy job. One has to run around beating time every now and then in order to achieve the goals set for the day, write reviews in time and at the same time maintain the quality of the work. At the end of the day one realizes how tired you are eventually by doing all the days work.
So what should one do? I have been teaching tips on effective cooking and get to speak to home makers who are brilliant in the work they do, but most of them complain that they need to recharge their cells after performing the daily tasks of cooking new and variety of dishes in order to keep the family happy and satisfied.
I kept pondering over months as to what could a possible vent be to such stress levels at times when you have to cook 8-10 dishes for over 20-30 people at a time and ensure that all appreciate the food. The only answer came to my mind was…MUSIC..
I have started playing music of all sorts when I am busy inventing a dish. It gives me a kick to innovate something new and thats the reason probably why my cooking becomes a bit unique and comes out good as they say. Now the most important question is what kind of music gives you the right kick? if you observe closely Music plays an important role on your mindset if you have really started following it and it helps add flavors to your cooking. If you are listening to hard rock while making a Traditional Daal, its bound to become spicy. Give it a try! 🙂
So the challenge was to find some music which is soothing to your ears, soft, fresh and at the same time not disturbing the balance of flavors in the food by playing on your mind, rather hammering your mind. I have been using a lot of new singers and their albums to check how it works on my cooking. Some did not have any impact and some made my food very spicy. Only a few succeeded in making my mood right for a flavorful happy cooking while humming the soft romantic numbers.
So here’s my first find in soft romantic music which I would like to Introduce to you all. I had a chance to speak to this wonderful person Joe Majdalani and we both figured out that we are very passionate for our work. He had a lot of interest in the food I make and the reviews I write and I myself found him very romantic by nature and has a passion for singing. He is a Lebanese at heart and has a certain level of softness and melody in his voice. If he pursues this as a full time career he has a bright future. Last few days I have been listening to his Album and I have found all his songs a hit. Spanish Heart, Dance in the moonlight, Its only Love and Another day in Paradise are my personal favorites.
His songs are available at :
