It all started when the summers set in and we all started consuming drinks to quench our thirst. We try Juices, coolers and even colas, to fight off the heat. Eventually we also end up making summer desserts to suit the climate and help us digest the food as well as give a cooling and soothing effect after a meal. This recipe comes with a twist to make you all try this at least once and relish it.
I was called to judge a food contest and came across this fruit juice of black grapes topped with vanilla ice cream. While I was tasting it, something came to my mind and I smiled. Once back home, I got the little things necessary to make this Dessert and I added a twist to it and this is how it came out.
I started by making a thick juice of only black grapes and keeping it aside. I also need some Limca or sprite, not a lot, just enough to bring some smiles on the faces of your guests. You will need some Vanilla Ice cream dollops. Start by pouring some Limca or sprite in the glass, filled it to about 1/3rd of it. I then put the thick black grape juice on top to fill another 1/3rd of the glass. I then sprinkled some Chaat masala on top of it and a pinch of salt. As soon as I had done that I added a dollop of Vanilla Ice cream on top to complete the dessert with a twist. When you sip it you get the Lime and lemon flavored sprite mixed with the sweet grape juice. While the taste has not settled on your tongue you get the chatpata taste of the Chaat masala which shakes up the taste buds nicely and then the same are cooled down with a sweet vanilla taste. The whole combination is just awesome and brings a smile on one and all who drink it.
I was inspired to write this unique recipe while surfing the net and as I stumbled upon this amazing video of a friend and teacher Chef Vikas Khanna, who does so many things with ease like he has done it here for Foodventures where he has actually created this recipe of a Dessert with a Twist having a combo of flavours. When I saw that video, I was tempted to see the next one done by Food specialist Vir Sanghvi where again a similar Dessert with Twist was presented. I guess they are giving one person a chance to feature in the same video with the celebs. All we have to do is visit Foodventures and share our own food adventures to get this chance. Easy, isn’t it?
