Hot Wok – An Honest Review on Spice land dishes

Hot Wok – Kharghar, is a small joint based in Kharghar. The menu says Chinese, Indonesian and Thai food and it does serve all the dishes commonly liked here. Almost all who have visited the Hot Wok joint would have tried these I am sure. This joint is located at a strategic place near the ITM College on a busy cross road and one can’t miss it even if one wants to. The variety of dishes does tempt you once you see the Menu card.

Ambiance

The Hot Wok Joint is moderately done. The lights are perfect to the Decor. The ambiance gives the appeal of a Indonesian Joint. The space utilization is optimized. The tables are decent enough for a person like me who loves to sit at ease. The tables and the décor are in sync. The walls have beautiful paintings relating to the cuisines they serve. The kitchen is just adjoining the dining area with a partial see through.

Food

I ordered a home delivery of Burnt Garlic Rice, Veg Thai Rice and diced vegetables in Hunan Sauce at Hot Wok to check their service. The Burnt Garlic rice was awesome and perfectly done. The Veg Thai rice too was good but I felt it lacked the vegetables a bit. A 20% increase in the chopped veggies in the rice would give it more authenticity. The diced veggies in Hunan Sauce are a must try. The sauce is on the sweeter note when you taste it but once it moves down the throat the moderate spiciness hits and the effect is awesome.

Service

The Service at Hot Wok is definitely not fast. The whole scenario depends on what you order. I case you have ordered a specialty dish which is not a running item, then don’t expect the delivery fast. The delivery staff definitely needs lot of training in simple calculations. The delivery boy actually gave me back change of 1000, while I had handed him over the exact change. I am sure many would not have returned the free earned cash like me. I think the joint should send me over a complimentary meal for all these advices and Tips.

Plus and Minus

To start with the Plus, the Joint is strategically located. They have a huge advantage over other Joints of similar class. The joint is full during business hours. Foodies like me will definitely go here for tasting the various dishes which are not available easily elsewhere. The price justifies the quantity.

The Minus is the delivery aspect. They should speed up in the delivery as it is an important aspect today in food business. Since I am a food nutritionist, I am very particular about excess calories. I can say that some of the dishes are very healthy. A few drink options on the Menu would be welcome. The ratings drop majorly due to the mannerisms of delivering food on time with correct billing.
I did not reveal that I am a food blogger even after I paid my bill.
