McDonalds Kharghar – A Honest Review

Indian Bloggers

McDonalds Kharghar started some years back at the Little World Mall and soon it pulled good crowd. We decided to go there on 27th May 2016 and give a try to some new additions and also check the service. The spacious joint welcomes you from 8.00am to 12.00am. The original dcor and Ambiance is somehow lost now.

Decor

The first thing which I want to tell is that this joint is on the ground floor of the Little World Mall. The decor was fantastic once upon a time and done in style to make you feel special. Now the place is in shambles most of the times. The staff keeps changing whenever you go there (once a month maybe) and there seems to be a shortage of the cleaning staff (or the new generation staff does not believe in cleaning up) We made way through melted and spilled ice-cream on the floor to reach a table and even when we finished and got up to go home, the melted ice cream lay there as it is, waiting for someone to come and pick it up. The staff was not interested, though even as they passed several times and they too avoided stepping into it.

Food

Since we had gone to try the new stuff, we ordered the Big Spicy Chicken wrap and the Grilled Chicken wrap. To our utter disappointment, the Saucy wrap (Grilled chicken) did not appear grilled from any angle and it was evident that it was served in a hurry.

Mcdonalds

Mcdonalds 2The Big Spicy Chicken Wrap was a total disaster. I am sure after seeing the Pic you all will also wonder if this is even hygienically done or not. The Wrap was OPEN once I removed the outer covering, with the onion and stuff seen from outside, can you Imagine!! We did not have enough courage left to try the Big Spicy Paneer Wrap. I did not report the Open wrap as I was not interested in the apologies and replacing the wrap with a “free wrap” in an attempt to cover up the shabby work. I left with my family without identifying myself as a Food blogger though a few customers sitting there knew me and waved at me with the same expressions of ‘what is happening here?’

Plus and Minus

For now, now plus are left with me to give this joint. The customary greetings are gone, the staff stares at you blankly as you approach the billing counter. The number calling out is at the discretion of the staff. You can see the screen and go collect your food if you are interested in eating it, they definitely are not. The Food is below average whatever I tried barring the French fries. Being a self -Trained chef and a Food blogger, I am choosy about the food and look at all aspects when the end product is served. So this is definitely not what I had expected. Issues of service, cleanliness, food quality and Ambiance could be definitely taken care of with more attention if the Hardcastle Restaurants Management is interested.

  1. McD was once upon a time, a place to savor & relish our senses to the core, however your review makes me really disappointed about them now. If they cannot cater their service, hygiene, ambiance & food quality even, what are they up to? They will seriously loose the confidence of their customers in them. Being a food blogger yourself, this experience might have taken a toll on you, I’m sure! High time the management does something about it!

    1. Yes Maitreni. I wish they improve their service in Kharghar and bring it up to the mark with their other outlets which are far superior in all aspects.

  2. I stopped visiting McD these days given the poor quality of burgers they serve. A veg burger that supposedly be juicy, comes served as an old tikki with a bun. Draat.

    1. The food Industry needs agile and quick service, prompt delivery and class taste. If that is not there, then soon things become difficult to manage Ekta..

    1. Ohh is it? This was my first bad experience with McD and it was not just bad, it was Horrible..

  3. Have things become so bad :'( I used to love to go to McD’s close to my house at Crossroards Mall… I still crave the french fries and the strawberry icecream with strawberries in it… (forgot what it is called though :-p)
    sigh…

  4. That’s a very disappointing sight for any foodie. I have never been a big fan of McD, especially for a place like India where fresh food is so easily available. The thought of frozen food from such a long time literally scares me.

    1. Yes Vinay, You are right about the Fresh food part. I am sure many will switch over to fresh food after reading this.

  5. Nice review. Foreign Companies do a lot of changes in their internal policies after they setup shop in India.

    1. 🙂 I try to be honest in both appreciating and criticizing.. 🙂

    1. Yes, most McD’s I saw outside India are much better than the ones here, when I compare. Its just a matter of negligence, tolerance and practise. 🙂
